What type of person would want to wield power? A question as old as time, but not posed nearly enough. The Joy in Deception attempts to shed light on our own ignorance of the modern and historical political climates. Too often we’ve remained blinded by proposed policies and economic and cultural crises, not noticing what was behind the words of our rulers, it’s time we realize that to those in power opinions, which we view as part of our identity, are just means through which power is delegated in our current system. Propaganda is just as, if not more, present today than it was under Gobbels in Nazi Germany. The demands of those in power are presented as morally/scientifically/religiously right and we willingly sign of our privacy and autonomy.
